Programme for the Anniversary Rally
Thursday 16 August: Arrivals (HW 04.400 and 16.30)
Informal welcome party at the Folly Inn with barbecue running.
Friday 17 August: Daytime activities at the Folly Inn
Daytime water activities based at the Folly: river sailing for juniors and adults in smaller boats.
Sculling, rubber flubber sailing and other river regatta events.
Excursions available: bus trips to Osborne House or the Needles, bikes to hire and explore.
Race briefing for Saturday.
Saturday 18 August: Race Day and Party in Cowes (LW 10.45 HW 18.00)
There will be two races: one in the Solent for larger boats, unballasted smaller boats and dinghies will race a separate, more sheltered course. Trip boat places for spectators.
Saturday night party at The Sugar Store, Shepards Wharf, Cowes will kick off with prizegiving followed by a hot buffet provided by caterers from The Duke of York pub. Island Band, The Folsom Prisoners, are guaranteed to have us all on our feet. The bar will be open throughout.
Sunday 19 August: Departure (HW 06.25 and 19.20)
OGA funds are to be made available for water taxis between the Folly Inn and pontoons, for running the racing and for subsidising places on chartered gaffers.
It's got to be Association wide so we'd like to let you know how your Area is planning to participate.
