This very popular annual event, usually known as the August Cruise, will be held a couple of weeks earlier this year in order to allow East Coast members time to travel to the Isle of Wight and join in the OGA55 celebrations. The EC OGA Committee has announced plans for East Coast members intending to travel to Cowes, find more information here.

The 2018 Summer Cruise will start with the Annual East Coast Race at Stone Sailing Club on the River Blackwater, which includes a race for small boats. We hope to have a really spectacular turnout of gaffers at Stone just as we did so many years ago.

The start of the event will be at registration at Stone Sailing Club, Reeds numbers, etc will be available on shore from 6:00pm on Friday evening.

Saturday  21st Those wishing not to race may like to follow the fleet or possibly help out the busy organisers with ‘boat spotting' at the finish. After the race there will be food, drink and of course prizegiving. There will be a race for open boats whilst the main race is running.

Sunday 22nd On Sunday those that have signed up for the Summer Cruise will make their way to Brightlingsea. We should be berthing together on the usual pontoons. Sunday evening we will be running a Safari supper much like last year which went very well. Some beer will be available courtesy of one of our sponsors - Mighty Oak Brewery.

Monday 23rd  Sail to Walton Backwaters – Seaways Bells Passage Race. Meet up on shore at Stone Point.

Tuesday 24th    Race from Walton - Pennyhole Bay Race - finishing at Shotley Marina.

Wednesday 25th   Lazy day - chance to visit Landguard Fort and Harwich Town then sail up the River Stour for an evening at Wrabness.
