The OGA Youth Fund was set up in our 50th anniversary year, 2013, to provide a lasting legacy by encouraging youngsters to sail in gaffers.

It is hoped that the Fund will go from strength to strength, and that in the future it might expand its remit to include funding for traditional boat-related skills and activities other than sailing.

The Youth Fund is managed by youthfund [at] oga [dot] org [dot] uk (Patrick Vyvyan-Robinson) acting on behalf of the GMC as the lead to oversee the Fund and to coordinate applications and the award of grants which are then assessed and where appropriate awarded by the GMC.

The future of the Youth Fund relies on sustaining income to the Fund, and the frontline of fundraising activity is in the OGA Areas. Every effort will be made to raise funds for the Youth Fund at sailing and non-sailing events throughout the year.
